
The project “Expertise Platform for the Sustainable Semiconductor Ecosystem within the Baltic and Neighbouring Countries” (SeBaltEc) is funded by Swedish Institute (SI) within the “SI Baltic Sea Neighbourhood Programme”. The programme supports cross-border cooperation that contributes to sustainable development in the EU countries around the Baltic Sea and the EU’s eastern neighbourhood area.

The main aims of the SeBaltEc project are:
To address a shortage qualified people for Europe’s chip production industry by:
- Creating the Baltic Sea expertise platform for sustainable semiconductor ecosystem (aligned with the EU Chips Act)
- Establishing the networks of experts and infrastructure as well as communicаting the project results
- Development of knowledge in sustainable semiconductor research, production and innovation.
- Work to develop training courses in sustainable research and production
- Improvement of links to similar EU-initiatives, e.g. EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) or EU’s Eastern Partnership (EaP)
- Preparation of a new EU-proposal
